TECHNICAL EXPLOITATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES
The TSS series of Technical Vehicle courses were designed to provide officers and operators with the special skill levels, knowledge and tools necessary to permit them to surreptitiously open; access concealed spaces and hidden compartments; install clandestine surveillance equipment; set-up ‘sting” or “bait” cars; rapidly by-pass ignition systems, and do a wide variety of other esoteric “things” to domestic and/or foreign cars, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles. These are all restricted enrollment programs.
TECHNICAL EXPLOITATIONS OF MOTOR VEHICLES I ( UNDERCOVER) is a 40 plus hour course which will teach each student the basics of 12VDC automotive electrical systems; how to remove & re-install seats, upholstered surfaces, panels and trim; and how to install and conceal video and audio surveillance equipment systems in a motor vehicle that is to be used in undercover, street-level narcotics enforcement, or other more sophisticated covert reconnaissance operations which are facilitated with the use of a “plain” vehicle. Special tools are included.
TECHNICAL EXPLOITATION OF MOT0R VEHICLES II (HOSTAGES & AUTO THEFT) This 40 plus hour POI is devoted to teaching the officer how to covertly install various technical devices and systems in a motor vehicle that will be used as “bait” for car thieves, or will be “given” to hostage-takers who demand an escape vehicle. These clandestine technical installations will provide officers and operators with the capability to remotely shut-off the ignition; lock all doors & windows; turn-on/off video cameras, multiple microphones, and RF transmitters; sound the horn; activate the lights and four-way emergency flashers, etc., via a remote controlled RF DTMF transmitter/receiver system. A 16-function DTMF receiver, other electronic devices, & specialized tools are included.
TECHNICAL EXPLOITATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES III (CONCEALMENTS) Another 40 plus hour vehicle POI, but one which this time focuses on teaching the attendee how to locate and easily access “hidden space” areas and voids in specific foreign, or domestic vehicles of the customers choice. This POI will have special appeal to those officers involved in highway drug interdiction; border agents; and special operators who need to conceal weapons, special clothing, equipment, documents, money, etc., while operating in a hostile foreign environment. Students will be taught how to do this work using a minimal number of readily available normal hand-tools.
TECHNICAL EXPLOITATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES IV (ACQUISTION FOR MILITARY) This program is similar to the Law Enforcement (II) course, but deals with the special requirements and equipment limitations imposed on military operators. POI teaches students how to enter, activate and “take” most vehicles, boats, construction equipment, or farm implements in five (5) minutes, or less.
TECHNICAL EXPLOITATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES V (ACQUISITION FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT) is a 40 plus hour POI which provides attendees with the electronic and mechanical knowledge, skills, and techniques used by “professional” car thieves . This course was designed especially for police officers, criminal investigators, Technical Surveillance Specialists and special military operators who are required to investigate such crimes, or may need to resort to using these skills to “acquire” cars, trucks, or motorcycles pursuant to a valid court order, or, in support of a tactical military objective . Considerable time will be spent actually working on several foreign and/or domestic vehicles of the student’s choice in order to perfect the requisite skill levels . Specific instruction will be provided on how to modify, by-pass and exploit various mechanical and electronic ignition systems .
OPERATIONAL TECHNIQUES FOR MOBILE TECHNICAL SURVEILLANCE PLATFORMS is a 40 plus hour program designed for those officers who are responsible for the operational use and maintenance of their agency-owned surveillance vehicle(s). The course will teach the officer successful how-to-do-it techniques that are necessary in order to consistently make covert evidence quality audio and video tape recordings using the equipment systems already in the vehicle. Instruction will also be provided on how to properly maintain the surveillance, mechanical, electrical and communications equipment systems in the platform.
