PHYSICAL SURVEILLANCE OPERATIONS
PHYSICAL SURVEILLANCE OPERATIONS (AT/FP) is a 40 plus hour basic program of instruction which teaches the officer or investigator the how-to’s of physical surveillance operations. The course covers a variety of subjects that are essential to any investigator who will perform surveillance duties. Specific instruction will be provided on how to plan and conduct fixed, foot and mobile surveillances in urban and suburban areas. PRACTEX's will require the students to participate in a series of scenario-driven foot and vehicle surveillances.

SURVEILLANCE DETECTION & COUNTERSURVEILLANCE OPNS (AT/FP) This 40 plus hour POI will teach the participants how to discreetly detect hostile surveillance activities, and once detected will provide each student with a variety of methods and special techniques which can neutralize such activities. This POI will focus on various techniques and technical equipment systems presently used by hostile intelligence agencies; foreign police departments and sophisticated organized crime cartels and groups. The students will also be taught how to manipulate, exploit, neutralize, or defeat such systems using special passive and active countermeasures devices and a variety of unique streetcraft techniques.

TACTICAL RURAL SURVEILLANCE OPERATIONS (AT/FP) is a 50 plus hour POI conducted over five days designed to teach the student how to conduct covert surveillance activities in rural areas. Students will receive approximately 12 hours classroom techniques & procedural training with the remainder participating in a state-wide, scenario driven, tactical field exercise spanning several hundred miles on both Interstates and less used state and county roads. Students will also be exposed to hostile counter surveillance techniques, and surveillance detection methods. Each student will be required to complete a detailed surveillance log for each day’s activity. The student must be physically prepared and properly equipped to cover any situation, from the board room to the beach and anything in between. Students should be prepared for three nights on the road, away from the primary TSS training site for the exercise. Students will be required to live on the local economy as in any long term surveillance. Vehicles, fuel, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the student’s agency.

TACTICAL RURAL & URBAN COVER & CONCEALMENT TECHNIQUES is a 40 plus hour enhancement and companion course to the TSS Tactical Rural Surveillance Operations course, and is a necessity for successful employment of Rural/Urban surveillance operations. Students will be instructed in the same cover/concealment techniques as those used by Reconnaissance/Surveillance, Target Interdiction, and snipers of the U.S. Military. A primarily hands-on course will provide each student with the techniques of concealment clothing fabrication (i.e.; Ghillie Suits), equipment concealment, design and construction of pre-fabricated and improvised “hide sites”, and the movement and observation skills used during Rural/Urban Surveillance operations. Students will fabricate and keep all necessary equipment to include Ghillie suits and pre-fab hide sites.
